On-machine data collection/display devices: MDT

A Machine Data Transducer (MDT) is a data collection device (with or without an Operator Interface) that easily installs on any machine. Using existing electrical signals in the machine, the MDT units communicate with our ProductionAce Windows software to display real-time data such as:

Avg. Cycle Time

Machine Rate

Production Rate

Run Time

Down Time

Set Up Time

Trial/Adjust Time

Analog Process Variables:

Temperatures, pressures, tonnage, force, position, liquid consumption, etc.

Time Process Variables:

Dwell, duration, fill, form, inject, hold time, etc.

Down Time Tracking:

Up to 40 Down Reasons, both operator entered and though direct machine connection.

Reject Tracking:

Up to 20 Reject Reasons Operator entered, plus an automatic Reject Input.

There are three basic models of MDT with a variety of capabilities, and they can all be incorporated
into a ProductionACE system. This unique functionality allows you to match individual machine data
collection, data display and Operator interface needs to the appropriate MDT for the most cost-effective
system available.

Very low cost data collection.

No data display.

MDT-01 is plug-in module that mounts in machine control cabinet..

MDT-02 housed in standard single gang 1/2" conduit junction box
and needs no local machine power to operate.

Operator input of 10 Downtime and 5 Reject reasons.

Operator can enter Setup mode and change Job from MDT.

Automatic input of 2 Downtime reasons through direct machine connection.

Slow/fast machine alarm outputs and machine "lockout" output (to ensure Operator enters a Down Reason).

Sealed keypad, metal splash-proof enclosure: 5"H x 9"W x 4"D

Setup and Trial/Adjust modes and 40 Down Reasons (MDT-400)

Machine "lockout” output to ensure entry to Down Reason by Operator.

Automatic input of 16 Down Reasons from direct machine connection (optional)

Bar code wand Job Change (optional add on).

Serial outputs for remote large "Marquee" data display.

MDT-210 adds 8 analog (Process Variable) inputs and Process Variable "alarm" outputs to MDT-150 capabilities.
